A composite veneer is a thin layer of tooth-coloured resin shaped directly onto the front of a tooth to improve its colour, shape or alignment. Built up and sculpted by the dentist in a single visit, it can close small gaps, mask discolouration or reshape chipped or worn front teeth. Because it is applied directly, a composite veneer usually needs little or no removal of natural tooth and is a more conservative, lower-cost alternative to porcelain veneers.
