PRP/PRF Therapy
Duration

PRP therapy concentrates the platelets and growth factors from a patient's own blood and injects them where healing is needed. At Cellthera a small blood sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma, which is then injected into a joint, tendon, soft-tissue injury or other site to stimulate the body's own repair processes. The clinic uses PRP across its orthopaedics, sports-medicine, aesthetic and wound-care departments, often alongside its stem-cell platform, making it a flexible regenerative option for degenerative and overload conditions as well as recovery from injury.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an autologous treatment, meaning it is made from the patient's own blood. A sample is drawn and placed in a centrifuge that separates the blood into layers; the platelet-rich fraction, which carries a high concentration of platelets and the growth factors they release, is collected and injected into the target tissue. Those growth factors are associated with recruiting repair cells, supporting new blood-vessel formation and modulating inflammation, which is why PRP is used to support healing in joints, tendons and soft tissue. At Cellthera PRP is offered across several departments. In orthopaedics and sports medicine it is injected into joints affected by early osteoarthritis or into injured tendons and ligaments; in aesthetic medicine it is used for skin and scalp rejuvenation; and in chronic-wound care it is combined with autologous-fat and stem-cell approaches to support tissue repair. Because the clinic also runs a stem-cell programme, PRP is sometimes used on its own as a lower-intensity regenerative option and sometimes as an adjunct to the SVF application. A session is short. After the blood draw and a few minutes of centrifugation, the prepared plasma is injected, often with local anaesthetic for comfort; most people return to normal activities the same day, with mild soreness or swelling at the injection site for a day or two. PRP suits people with early joint degeneration, chronic tendon problems, sports injuries, slow-healing wounds or those seeking skin and scalp rejuvenation. As an autologous product it carries a low risk of allergic reaction, but the clinic screens for contraindications such as active infection, blood disorders and certain medications. Several sessions spaced a few weeks apart are commonly recommended, with benefits building gradually rather than immediately.
