Type

CT Scan

Duration

40 min

Targeted CT scan of a specific body region — chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, head, or angiography sequences — with radiologist interpretation and written report. Available with or without contrast depending on clinical indication. Includes CT angiography sequences (cerebral, carotid, aortic, pulmonary, pelvic-leg). No referral required for self-pay patients. Pricing per GOÄ (German physician fee schedule); provided at booking confirmation.

Institut für Bilddiagnostik offers the full range of targeted CT examinations across body regions, serving both patients with a specific clinical question and those seeking a screening overview of a particular system. The CT service catalogue includes: **Chest CT:** Evaluation of pulmonary nodules, interstitial lung disease, pleural pathology, mediastinal masses, and lymphadenopathy. The same scanner used for low-dose lung screening can be operated at higher diagnostic dose when detailed tissue characterisation is clinically required. **Abdominal and Pelvic CT:** Assessment of the liver, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, adrenal glands, bowel, and pelvic organs. Contrast-enhanced sequences are typically recommended for lesion characterisation and vascular assessment. The institute also offers CT of the small intestine (MR enterography or CT enterography depending on indication). **Spinal CT:** High-resolution CT of the cervical, thoracic, or lumbar spine, providing bony detail superior to MRI for fracture assessment, bony canal stenosis, and post-operative hardware evaluation. **CT Angiography:** Dedicated vascular CT sequences are available for cerebral arteries and veins, carotid arteries, the aorta (thoracic and abdominal), pulmonary vasculature (CT pulmonary angiogram for suspected embolism), and the iliac-femoral-popliteal vessels. **Head CT:** Rapid brain CT for neurological assessment; sinus CT for sinusitis evaluation and surgical planning. Brain CT is preferred over MRI in time-sensitive presentations. All examinations are performed with low-dose protocols where clinically appropriate. A GOÄ-based cost estimate is provided at booking. No referral is required for self-pay patients, making the service accessible to individuals who want direct imaging without navigating the statutory referral pathway.
