Red Light Therapy

Type

Red Light Therapy

Duration

20 min

What's included

3 deliverables in this treatment

  • 10–20 minute dual-panel red and near-infrared light session
  • Eye protection provided
  • Access to recovery area after session

A 10-to-20-minute session using a dual-panel red and near-infrared light therapy system delivering wavelengths in the 630 to 850 nanometre range. These wavelengths penetrate the skin to reach mitochondria, where they may stimulate cytochrome c oxidase activity and support cellular energy (ATP) production. Red light therapy is associated with improved skin health, reduced inflammation, faster tissue recovery, and enhanced collagen synthesis.

About this treatment

AYUN's red light therapy sessions use a dual-panel photobiomodulation system delivering red (approximately 630 nanometres) and near-infrared (approximately 850 nanometres) wavelengths. Each session lasts 10 to 20 minutes, during which clients stand or sit in front of the panels at close range to maximise light absorption.

The biological mechanism centres on photon absorption by cytochrome c oxidase, an enzyme in the mitochondrial electron transport chain. When red and near-infrared photons reach this enzyme, they may enhance its activity and support increased production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the cellular energy currency. This process is thought to support a range of downstream effects including improved cellular repair, reduced oxidative stress, and modulation…

Research has explored red light therapy for applications across dermatology, sports medicine, and general wellness. Studies suggest potential benefits for skin texture and collagen density, wound healing speed, joint pain and stiffness, muscle recovery after exercise, and mood regulation through effects on circadian biology. While individual responses vary, the modality has a strong safety profile with no UV exposure and minimal risk of adverse effects.

None

Who is this for?

Individuals interested in skin health and collagen support, athletes seeking faster post-training recovery, people managing joint stiffness or chronic inflammation, and anyone looking to support cellular energy production as part of a broader wellness programme

Preparation required

Expose as much skin as possible for maximum light absorption — athletic shorts and sports bra or shirtless is recommended. Remove any sunscreen or heavy lotions from skin before the session. No fasting or special dietary preparation required.
