Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Type

Hyperbaric Oxygen

Duration

2 hours

What's included

4 deliverables in this treatment

  • 60–90 minute session at 2 ATA with 100% oxygen
  • Pressurisation and depressurisation phases (~10 min each)
  • Pre-session safety briefing and medical screening
  • Comfortable reclining position inside chamber

A 60-to-90-minute hyperbaric oxygen therapy session at two atmospheres of pressure breathing 100 percent oxygen. The elevated pressure dissolves significantly more oxygen into the blood plasma than is possible at normal atmospheric pressure, delivering oxygen to tissues at concentrations far beyond what red blood cells alone can carry. This hyperoxygenated environment may support tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and enhance cognitive function.

About this treatment

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) at AYUN involves breathing 100 percent oxygen inside a pressurised chamber at two atmospheres absolute (2 ATA) for 60 to 90 minutes. At this pressure, oxygen dissolves directly into blood plasma at concentrations roughly 10 to 15 times higher than under normal atmospheric conditions, allowing it to reach tissues that may be underserved by standard circulation.

The elevated tissue oxygen levels trigger several physiological responses. Angiogenesis — the formation of new blood vessels — may be stimulated in areas of low oxygen supply. Stem cell mobilisation from bone marrow increases, potentially supporting tissue repair across the body. The immune system benefits from enhanced white blood cell function in oxygen-rich environments. Inflammation may be modulated through effects on cytokine signalling and oxidative…

Research has explored HBOT across a wide range of applications. In sports medicine, it is used to support recovery from soft tissue injuries, fractures, and post-surgical healing. Neurological research has investigated its effects on traumatic brain injury recovery, cognitive performance, and neuroprotection. Longevity-focused studies have examined its influence on telomere length and senescent cell clearance, though this research remains in early stages.

Who is this for?

Athletes and active individuals recovering from injuries or surgery, people seeking to support cognitive function and neuroprotection, longevity-focused clients interested in tissue repair and anti-ageing research, and individuals with chronic wounds or inflammation-related conditions

Preparation required

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting cotton clothing — no synthetic materials inside the chamber. Remove all jewellery, watches, and electronic devices except approved items. Do not apply petroleum-based lotions, hair products, or perfume before the session. Inform staff of any ear, sinus, or lung conditions, claustrophobia, or recent surgery. Avoid carbonated drinks before the session.
