Plexr Plus — Plasma Pen Treatment

Plexr Plus is a medical-grade plasma generator that uses ionised gas — plasma — to sublimate skin tissue with extreme precision, removing imperfections and tightening skin without a blade or significant heat transfer to surrounding tissue. At AV Aesthetics, Plexr Plus is used for a range of indications: removing small skin growths, warts, seborrheic keratosis, and xanthelasmas; reducing pigmentation; smoothing wrinkles and perioral lines; and performing a non-surgical eyelid lift that mimics the effect of blepharoplasty. The device combines plasma arc technology, radiochirurgical scalpel function, and pulsed radiofrequency light. Local anaesthetic is applied before the procedure, fine brown crusts form immediately on the treated areas, and these resolve over approximately five days.

Plasma is the fourth state of matter — formed when a gas is energised to the point where it ionises. Plexr Plus generates a controlled plasma arc at the tip of its handpiece, which discharges onto the skin surface and causes direct sublimation of the targeted tissue. Sublimation means the tissue transitions from solid to vapour without passing through a liquid phase, which is why the process leaves no open wound and does not transfer significant heat to adjacent skin. Instead, a fine carbon crust forms instantly on the treated point, which detaches naturally over approximately five days. This mechanism makes Plexr Plus suitable for lesion removal — warts, fibromas, skin tags, seborrheic keratosis (the rough brownish growths common from middle age onward), and xanthelasmas (yellowish cholesterol deposits around the eyes) — because each lesion can be precisely ablated without damaging surrounding tissue. Pigmented spots respond well for similar reasons: the melanin-rich cells in the lesion are selectively targeted. For facial rejuvenation applications, the controlled thermal contraction effect on the periorbital skin (around the eyes) produces a tightening that can mimic the outcome of surgical blepharoplasty in suitable candidates — excess upper eyelid skin is reduced and hooding is diminished without incision. Wrinkle smoothing with Plexr Plus can target perioral smoker's lines, under-eye fine lines, and other superficial creasing. The Plexr Plus device combines three technologies: a plasma arc generator, a radiochirurgical scalpel function, and pulsed light with radiofrequency — making it more versatile than a simple plasma pen.
