HArmonyCA — Hybrid Biostimulating Injectable

HArmonyCA is a next-generation hybrid injectable that combines two active substances in a single syringe: hyaluronic acid for immediate volumising and lifting, and calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres for longer-term collagen biostimulation. The HA component provides instant soft tissue augmentation and skin hydration, while the CaHA particles act as a scaffold that stimulates the body's own fibroblasts to produce new collagen, progressively firming the treated area over 12 weeks. At AV Aesthetics, HArmonyCA is delivered via cannula after Emla topical anaesthetic is applied, and is used for facial firming, structural lifting, rejuvenation, and overall skin quality improvement. Results become fully visible after approximately 12 weeks and typically last 19 months or longer.

HArmonyCA (manufactured by Galderma) represents a specific category of injectable product known as a hybrid or combination biostimulator — distinct from standard HA fillers in that it does not simply add volume, but actively promotes the body's own collagen synthesis for a progressive, firming result. The two-component mechanism works in sequence. The hyaluronic acid phase acts immediately on injection: it integrates into the intercellular matrix, drawing water and providing lift, firmness, and hydration in the treated zone. This immediate effect is similar to a conventional HA filler. The calcium hydroxyapatite phase works more slowly: the CaHA microspheres are too large to be metabolised quickly, and they act as a physical scaffold around which fibroblasts migrate and attach. The fibroblasts then produce collagen, elastin, and other extracellular matrix proteins — effectively using the CaHA particles as a framework for new tissue construction. As the microspheres are gradually resorbed over months, the newly produced collagen matrix takes their place. The clinical consequence of this dual mechanism is that the result continues to improve for up to 12 weeks after injection, and then persists significantly longer than a standard HA filler — studies of CaHA-based products report durability of 19 months or more for the full treatment effect. At AV Aesthetics, HArmonyCA is administered via cannula rather than a sharp needle. Cannula delivery reduces the risk of vascular occlusion and bruising relative to needle injection, and is the preferred technique for this product class. Emla topical anaesthetic is applied as standard before the cannula is introduced. After injection, cold compresses are available to manage any immediate swelling or redness. Indications include soft tissue augmentation, facial firming and structural lifting, overall facial rejuvenation, and improvement of skin hydration and texture. Preparation: no active skin conditions in the treatment area for at least one week before appointment. Avoid Acylpyrin (aspirin), Warfarin, and other blood-thinning agents on the day of treatment. Post-treatment: for 24 hours after injection avoid alcohol, intense exercise, saunas, direct sun exposure, significant heat, and extreme cold. Cold compresses can be applied at home for any residual redness or swelling. Contraindications: acute or chronic skin disease at the site, history of anaphylaxis or severe allergy, autoimmune conditions, pregnancy, and breastfeeding.
