Botox — Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Botulinum toxin type A injections at AV Aesthetics are performed personally by MUDr. Anežka Vochtová, a physician with aesthetic medicine certification and years of injection experience. The treatment temporarily relaxes the underlying facial muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles — horizontal forehead lines, vertical frown lines between the brows, crow's feet around the eyes, perioral smoker's lines, and the uneven texture of an orange-peel chin. The same product is used to significantly reduce excessive sweating in the underarms or the soles of the feet. Each session begins with a personal consultation to assess anatomy and agree on realistic goals. Topical anaesthetic is available if requested. Results emerge over 2–10 days, reach their peak in 2–4 weeks, and typically last 3–6 months.

Botulinum toxin type A works by blocking the nerve signals that trigger muscle contraction. When tiny doses are injected precisely into the target muscle, the muscle relaxes and the overlying skin smooths. This is the mechanism behind its use for dynamic wrinkles — the kind that deepen when you frown, squint, or raise your brows — and for hyperhidrosis, where overactive sweat gland nerves are similarly calmed. At AV Aesthetics, every botulinum toxin appointment follows a consistent protocol. MUDr. Vochtová conducts an individual consultation first to assess the facial anatomy, understand the patient's aesthetic goals, and rule out contraindications. No injections are given at the same visit as a first consultation unless the patient has already been through the assessment process. Topical anaesthetic is available, though most patients report that injections in facial areas cause little more than brief, minor discomfort. Results onset over 2–10 days and reach full effect at 2–4 weeks. The improvement typically lasts 3–6 months; regular repeat treatments may gradually extend the interval between sessions as the targeted muscles become less active over time. Areas treated at this clinic span the full face: horizontal forehead lines (1,500–3,000 Kč), glabella vertical frown lines (1,500–2,500 Kč), crow's feet (2,000–4,000 Kč), perioral lines (1,000–1,500 Kč), and chin orange-peel texture (1,000–1,500 Kč). Hyperhidrosis treatment is available for underarms (10,000–15,000 Kč) and foot soles (13,000–18,000 Kč). Preparation: avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements on the day of treatment, and ensure there is no active skin infection at the planned injection site. Post-treatment, stay upright for at least 4 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, intense sun exposure, and saunas for 48 hours, and do not press or massage treated areas for 10 days. Contraindications include known allergy to botulinum toxin, active infection at or near the injection site, systemic infection, pregnancy, and breastfeeding.
