Once a dental implant has integrated with the bone, a custom crown is fitted on top to form the visible, functioning tooth. This restorative stage follows implant placement and healing, and completes the replacement of a missing tooth.
About this treatment
A crown on an implant is the final, restorative part of replacing a missing tooth with an implant. After the titanium implant has been placed and has integrated with the jawbone, an abutment connects it to a custom-made crown that sits at the gum line and looks and works like a natural tooth. This staged approach — surgery first, restoration once healing is complete — gives a stable, long-lasting result.
