Dental CBCT 3D Scan

Type

CT Scan

Duration

20 min

A cone-beam CT (CBCT) scan produces a detailed three-dimensional image of the teeth, jawbone and surrounding structures. At AS-Dent Studio it is used to plan implants, assess bone volume, investigate difficult root canals and review impacted or problem teeth before surgery. Scanning is quick and available as a targeted region, a single arch or the full mouth, with conventional panoramic X-rays also offered for a flatter overview.

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a low-dose three-dimensional imaging technique used widely in modern dentistry. Unlike a flat panoramic X-ray, a CBCT scan reconstructs the teeth, roots, jawbone, nerve canals and sinuses in three dimensions, allowing the dentist to measure bone height and width, locate anatomical structures and see problems that two-dimensional images can miss. At AS-Dent Studio, CBCT supports several areas of care: planning the exact position and size of dental implants, evaluating bone before augmentation, mapping complex or curved root canals before microscope endodontics, and assessing impacted teeth, cysts or fractures prior to surgery. The scan itself takes only a short time — you remain still while the scanner rotates once around the head — and is available as a targeted view of a single region, one arch, or the complete upper-and-lower dentition depending on what the treatment requires. A conventional panoramic X-ray is also offered when a broad two-dimensional overview is sufficient. Having this imaging in-house means diagnosis and planning can often be completed in a single visit, which is convenient for patients travelling from outside the area. As with all dental radiography, imaging is taken only when clinically justified, and the dentist will explain why a particular scan is recommended.
