Profhilo bioremodeling delivers a unique combination of high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid via just ten injection points using the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique. Unlike standard dermal fillers it does not add volume or structure — it stimulates the skin's own production of collagen, elastin and HA for firmer, more elastic and visibly hydrated skin. The two-session protocol (one month apart) produces gradual improvement in skin quality that continues to develop for weeks after the final session. Profhilo is classified as a skin remodelling agent rather than a filler — a distinction that reflects both its formulation and its mechanism of action. Standard HA fillers are cross-linked gels designed to remain localised and provide mechanical volume. Profhilo contains a blend of very high molecular weight HA (1,100 kDa) and low molecular weight HA (20 kDa) stabilised without chemical cross-linking, which means it spreads naturally through the tissue planes rather than remaining in one location. This biodynamic HA then acts as a 'super-hydrator' and biostimulant: the high-molecular-weight fraction provides immediate hydration and creates a scaffold; the low-molecular-weight fraction is small enough to enter cells and stimulate the production of collagen types I, III and IV, elastin and native HA by dermal fibroblasts and keratinocytes. The BAP technique uses only ten anatomically mapped injection points per face — five per side — placed at positions that correspond to safe anatomical zones allowing the Profhilo to flow to cover the mid-face, perioral area, cheeks and jaw from a minimal number of entry points. This approach reduces post-injection swelling, bruising and patient discomfort compared to the many-point technique used in standard mesotherapy. Results begin to emerge at around three to four weeks after the first session as collagen remodelling gets underway; the full effect is assessed at four weeks after the second session. The skin appears firmer, more elastic and more luminous; fine lines soften as the new dermal matrix fills in from below. The effect typically lasts six to twelve months, with a single maintenance session at six to twelve months recommended thereafter. Profhilo Structura is a newer variant using a higher HA concentration and modified formulation for patients with more advanced laxity or in areas such as the jawline and neck where deeper structural biostimulation is needed. The protocol and session spacing are identical to standard Profhilo; the formulation provides more intensive fibroblast activation and is particularly suited to the neck and lower face. Profhilo can be combined with botulinum toxin and thread lifting on the same or adjacent visits for comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
