The 128-slice Siemens Somatom Perspective produces sub-millimetre resolution axial images reconstructed with lung-kernel and soft-tissue-kernel algorithms, enabling simultaneous evaluation of parenchymal and mediastinal structures. Chest CT is one of the most versatile imaging studies in clinical practice. Common indications include investigation of suspected pulmonary embolism (requiring a dedicated angiographic protocol with precisely timed contrast injection, available separately), characterisation of lung nodules detected on chest X-ray, assessment of mediastinal lymphadenopathy, staging of thoracic malignancies, and diagnosis of pulmonary infection when chest X-ray findings are equivocal. The facility also performs HRCT of the lungs as a separate dedicated protocol at €45 for evaluation of interstitial lung disease and airway pathology. For patients requiring assessment of multiple abdominal regions in the same session, the price list offers combined protocols at a significant discount: chest combined with abdomen (€196 in one sitting) or chest combined with abdomen and pelvis (€305 for all three regions together).
