Affidea Praha's computed tomography service operates on a GE Revolution GSI scanner — a 256-detector system with Gemstone Spectral Imaging capability. This technology enables dual-energy CT protocols and virtual monochromatic reconstructions, allowing the radiologist to characterise tissue composition, reduce beam-hardening artefacts, and distinguish structures that appear identical on conventional single-energy CT. The standard CT catalogue covers brain and head examinations (brain, sinuses, orbits, temporal bones), chest CT (lung parenchyma, pleura, mediastinum), abdominal and pelvic CT (liver, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, bowel, pelvic organs), and spinal CT at any level (cervical, thoracic, lumbar). Examinations can be performed with or without intravenous contrast depending on clinical indication. The Prague radiology team consists of six consultant radiologists. Reports are typically available within one to two working days and are provided in both Czech and English to serve international patients. Digital images are made available after the examination. Affidea Group operates over 300 centres in 15 European countries, and the Prague site follows the network's standardised imaging protocols and quality assurance framework — ensuring that findings are interpreted against consistently validated reference standards. Private patients can book directly by phone or via the Affidea website; no GP referral is required.
