Anti-Wrinkle Botulinum Toxin (Allergan)

Physician-administered Allergan botulinum toxin injections that temporarily relax the facial muscles driving forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet. At AE Derm the treatment is carried out exclusively by MUDr. Helena Závodská, who assesses facial movement and muscle strength before each session to determine optimal placement and dosage. Effect develops over five to fourteen days and typically lasts three to five months. The same product is used for hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating). Botulinum toxin works at the neuromuscular junction: a precisely measured dose blocks the release of acetylcholine, the chemical messenger that tells a muscle to contract.
