Duration
45 min
The initial orthodontic consultation at Mega Smile assesses whether and how your teeth can be straightened — with Spark or Invisalign clear aligners or other appliance types — and what the treatment would cost. The orthodontist examines your bite, discusses your goals, and outlines realistic options with an estimated duration and budget. If you proceed, full diagnostics follow: two X-ray images, clinical photographs and a digital intraoral scan, from which a written, personalised treatment plan is prepared with no hidden costs. The consultation is non-binding, and adult patients can self-refer without a dentist's recommendation.
An orthodontic consultation is the essential first step before any teeth-straightening treatment, and at Mega Smile it is designed to give a clear, honest picture before any financial commitment. The visit is led by one of the clinic's two orthodontists — MUDr. Ladislav Kocman (35+ years of orthodontic practice) or MDDr. Nicole Kufelová (Motol University Hospital–trained, Spark and Invisalign specialist). **What happens during the consultation:** The orthodontist examines your teeth, bite relationship and jaw alignment, and discusses what bothers you about your smile and what outcome you want. You will receive a professional view on which appliance types are realistic for your case — clear aligners (Spark / Invisalign), or fixed appliances where aligners are not clinically suitable — together with an estimate of treatment duration (typically 1–2 years for comprehensive cases) and an approximate cost range. **Diagnostics:** If you decide to continue, the clinic performs full diagnostic records: two X-ray images (including panoramic OPG), standardised clinical photographs, and a digital impression of your teeth using a modern intraoral scanner — more comfortable and more precise than traditional impression material. These records are the basis for a personalised treatment plan, presented to you with a digital visualisation of the expected final result and a written price plan. The clinic explicitly commits to transparent pricing with no hidden or unexpected charges. **Cost and referral rules:** Czech health insurers contribute to orthodontic treatment only for patients under 22. For these patients, a consultation with a dentist's referral (žádanka) is free; without a referral it costs 510 Kč. Adult patients over 22 pay 2,500 Kč for the consultation and full self-pay treatment prices. No referral is needed to book — international and self-referred patients are welcome, and the clinic actively accepts new patients.
