The reconstructive background of the surgeon — rare among purely cosmetic practitioners — provides particular expertise in complex breast reconstruction following mastectomy or prior surgery. Breast augmentation is available using saline implants, silicone implants, form-stable gummy bear implants, or autologous fat transfer, with implant size, shape, and placement plane (subglandular or submuscular) determined collaboratively with the patient at consultation. The procedure typically takes one to two hours under general anaesthesia with same-day or overnight discharge. Breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) addresses macromastia — overly large breasts that cause back pain, skin irritation, and posture issues — removing excess breast tissue and reshaping the remaining tissue for a proportionate result. Breast lift (mastopexy) corrects ptosis (sagging) caused by pregnancy, weight changes, or ageing, repositioning the nipple-areola complex and tightening the breast envelope. Breast reconstruction follows mastectomy for cancer or prophylactic surgery, using implant-based or flap reconstruction techniques. Recovery after augmentation involves light activities within days and return to normal function within one to two weeks. Intense physical activity is restricted for four to six weeks.
