Blood-based or skin prick allergy testing covering 53 allergens across inhalant and food categories — including dust mites, animal dander, grass pollens, dairy, nuts, seafood, and wheat — with personalised management recommendations from a medical professional.
Wonderhealth Screeners offers comprehensive allergy and food sensitivity testing to identify the specific triggers underlying chronic symptoms such as rhinitis, skin reactions, digestive issues, asthma, and unexplained fatigue. The clinic's allergy panel covers 53 distinct allergens across two major categories: inhalant allergens and food allergens. The inhalant allergen panel screens for common environmental triggers including house dust mites (Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and D. farinae), mould species such as Penicillium and Aspergillus, animal danders (cat, dog), cockroach allergens, and a range of grass and tree pollens relevant to the Singapore and Southeast Asian climate. These allergens are leading causes of allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, and allergic asthma in the region. The food allergen panel covers the most common dietary triggers: grains (wheat, barley, oats), seafood (cod, shrimp, tuna, crab), dairy (cow's milk, cheese components), tree nuts and peanuts, eggs, soya, tropical and temperate fruits, vegetables, and yeast and gluten products. Food sensitivities can manifest as gastrointestinal symptoms, skin reactions, brain fog, and systemic inflammation, and are frequently underdiagnosed without targeted testing. Two testing methodologies are available. Specific IgE blood testing measures allergen-specific immunoglobulin E antibodies in the blood, providing a quantitative result for each allergen tested and identifying both immediate (Type I) hypersensitivity and sensitisation. Skin prick testing delivers immediate in-clinic results by applying small amounts of allergen extracts to the forearm and observing the wheal-and-flare response. The five-step process at Wonderhealth includes an initial consultation to understand your symptom history, the test itself (blood draw or skin prick, typically 15–30 minutes), laboratory processing of blood samples, a results interpretation appointment, and a personalised allergen avoidance and management plan. Referrals to an allergist or immunologist are provided if specialist follow-up is warranted.
