CT Scan
Duration
25 min
Diagnostic CT scan of any single body region at Voxel's Koszykowa 78 centre in central Warsaw. Covers head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine segments, and joints. Both native and contrast-enhanced protocols available. Part of Poland's leading specialist imaging network — 33 centres in 21 cities since 2005. Physician referral required under Polish law.
Voxel S.A. has operated as a pure-play diagnostic imaging company in Poland since 2005, accumulating institutional expertise in CT, MRI, PET-CT, and nuclear medicine that generalist private hospitals rarely match. The Warsaw Koszykowa 78 centre is one of 33 locations in the national network, each following standardised protocols overseen by specialist radiologists. A single-region CT scan at this centre covers all the standard body areas: the head and brain (trauma assessment, cerebrovascular disease, oncological staging), the chest (pulmonary nodule detection, pleural disease, mediastinal assessment), the abdomen and pelvis (liver, pancreas, kidneys, adrenal glands, bowel, lymph nodes), the cervical spine, thoracic spine, or lumbar-sacral spine, and major joints including the hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle. The scanner produces thin-slice volumetric data processed into multi-planar reconstructions in axial, coronal, and sagittal planes. Three-dimensional surface or vascular reconstructions can be generated from the same dataset where clinically relevant. Images are interpreted by Voxel's specialist radiologists and returned as a written report with accompanying image files on CD; an electronic results portal is also available. Contrast-enhanced studies are available when soft-tissue differentiation or vascular characterisation is required. Patients scheduled for contrast CT should fast for four hours beforehand and bring a recent creatinine result to confirm adequate renal function. Patients with known thyroid disease should also provide TSH results. Daily medications should be taken as usual. Because Voxel operates exclusively in imaging, its radiologists develop and maintain protocol expertise without the competing demands of emergency medicine, surgery, or outpatient GP work. This specialisation is reflected in the depth of the CT examination list — over 20 distinct CT study types are available at the Warsaw location, spanning routine regional scans through to specialised angiographic and high-resolution protocols. Under Poland's Atomic Law statute, a physician referral is legally required for all CT examinations. Any doctor in active practice — including a private GP consulted for a few minutes before the scan — can issue the referral. Voxel's booking system, eRejestracja, handles appointment scheduling; the Warsaw CT department can also be reached directly by phone (+48 22 494 36 15) or email ([email protected]).
