For each study, a creatinine blood test result is required before contrast administration to confirm adequate renal function. Patients on metformin should discuss medication management with their referring physician in advance of contrast studies. The fasting requirement is four hours for solid food; clear fluids are permitted. Results are available as a written radiologist report and CD; the electronic portal also accepts online retrieval.
