Needle mesotherapy for the face — micro-injections of a customised vitamin, peptide, and hyaluronic acid cocktail into the superficial dermis to revitalise, hydrate, and improve skin radiance, texture, and tone.
Needle mesotherapy is a technique that delivers a cocktail of active ingredients directly into the mesodermal layer of the skin through multiple superficial micro-injections. At Viva Estetica, the mesotherapy solutions are customised to each patient's skin concerns and typically contain a combination of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (for deep hydration), vitamins (C, E, B-complex), amino acids (building blocks for collagen and elastin synthesis), mineral cofactors, peptides, and antioxidants. The practitioner uses a fine 30-32 gauge needle to perform a series of rapid, shallow injections across the treatment area. The injection depth is typically 1-2mm — deep enough to penetrate the epidermis and reach the upper dermis where fibroblasts, the collagen-producing cells, reside, but shallow enough to avoid vascular structures and minimise bruising. The technique creates a grid of micro-deposits across the face, each containing a precise volume of the active cocktail. The multi-puncture technique serves a dual purpose: it delivers the active ingredients directly to the target tissue layer, bypassing the skin's barrier function which limits the penetration of topically applied products, and it creates controlled micro-injuries that stimulate a mild wound-healing response. This secondary mechanism enhances collagen and elastin synthesis beyond what the injected actives alone would achieve. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. Patients experience mild redness and pinpoint injection marks that typically resolve within 12-24 hours. Occasional small bruises may occur but are uncommon with proper technique. A course of 4-6 sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results, followed by maintenance sessions every 1-3 months. Mesotherapy is particularly effective for patients with dull, dehydrated skin, early signs of ageing, or smokers seeking to counteract the oxidative damage that tobacco causes to skin collagen.
