About this treatment
Laser hair removal at Vital Skin Clinic uses pulses of laser light absorbed by the pigment in the hair to heat and disable the follicle, gradually reducing how much hair regrows. Because each hair must be treated during its active growth phase — and only a portion of follicles are in that phase at any time — a course of sessions spaced several weeks apart is required to achieve a meaningful, lasting reduction rather than a single permanent result.
A patch area is considered and the device settings are matched to your skin and hair before treatment; you feel a quick snapping sensation with each pulse, and most areas are treated in minutes to half an hour depending on size. Mild redness around the follicles for a short time afterwards is normal, and sun avoidance before and after each session protects the skin.
