Type
Microneedling
Duration
1 hour
Dermapen microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin, helping to improve texture, fine lines, enlarged pores and acne scarring. At V Clinic it is offered for the face alone or extended across the face, neck and décolleté, and is delivered by the clinic's cosmetologist. A short planned course tends to give the most noticeable improvement.
Dermapen microneedling uses a cluster of very fine needles oscillating at high speed to create thousands of precise micro-channels in the skin. These tiny, controlled micro-injuries are associated with the skin's natural repair response, prompting fresh collagen and elastin that can firm the skin and refine its surface over the following weeks. The micro-channels also allow active serums applied during treatment to be absorbed more effectively. At V Clinic the skin is cleansed and a numbing cream applied before treatment, which takes around thirty to forty-five minutes depending on the area. Expect redness similar to mild sunburn for 24 to 48 hours, after which skin tends to look fresher and, over a few weeks, smoother and more even. It is well suited to uneven texture, enlarged pores, fine lines and mild-to-moderate acne scarring, and can be used on the face alone or extended to the neck and décolleté. For best results — particularly with scarring — a course of several sessions spaced about four weeks apart is recommended. Strict sun protection afterwards is important. Microneedling is avoided over active acne or infection and in pregnancy; the cosmetologist confirms suitability at consultation.
