Botulinum toxin injected into the underarms to reduce excessive sweating (axillary hyperhidrosis). By temporarily limiting the nerve signals that switch on the sweat glands, the treatment can noticeably cut underarm wetness for several months. It is a quick, in-clinic procedure carried out by a physician and is popular ahead of summer, weddings or events where underarm sweating is a particular concern.

About this treatment

Excessive underarm sweating treatment uses botulinum toxin to temporarily interrupt the chemical signal that tells the sweat glands to produce sweat. A grid of small injections is placed across each underarm, and over the following days the treated area typically produces much less sweat. It is a well-established option for people whose underarm wetness is not controlled by antiperspirants and who find it affects clothing, confidence or daily comfort.
