Laser skin resurfacing for wrinkles, scars, and texture improvement.

About this treatment

Laser skin resurfacing uses focused light energy to precisely remove damaged outer skin layers and stimulate new collagen production in the deeper dermis. Ablative lasers (CO2, erbium) vaporize thin layers of skin for dramatic resurfacing, while fractional lasers create thousands of microscopic treatment zones surrounded by untreated tissue, allowing faster healing. Fractional CO2 laser is often called the gold standard for skin resurfacing because it delivers significant results — smoother texture, reduced wrinkles, improved scars — with a manageable recovery period. Results develop over 3–6 months as new collagen remodels the skin from within.

Who is this for?

People with acne scars, surgical scars, or stretch marks wanting significant improvement. Those with moderate to deep wrinkles and skin laxity. Anyone with rough skin texture or enlarged pores. People willing to invest in a treatment with meaningful downtime for dramatic results.

Preparation required

Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for 2–4 weeks before treatment. Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams on the treatment area for 2 weeks prior (shaving is OK). Discontinue retinoids and exfoliating acids 5–7 days before treatment. Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, lotions, or sunscreen on the treatment area. Inform the clinic of any medications that increase photosensitivity (antibiotics, accutane). A topical numbing cream may be applied 30–60 minutes before treatment.
