The Comprehensive Endocrinological Exam at Vasmedic is a specialist-led assessment of the body's hormonal systems, conducted by a board-certified endocrinologist over approximately 60 minutes. The exam goes well beyond a simple thyroid panel, providing a systematic evaluation of the major endocrine axes and their interplay. The consultation begins with a detailed clinical history focused on endocrine-relevant symptoms: energy levels, weight trajectory, temperature regulation, skin and hair changes, menstrual regularity (in women), libido and sexual function, mood and cognitive function, sleep quality, and appetite patterns. The physician also reviews family history for thyroid disease, diabetes, adrenal disorders, and other endocrinopathies. A targeted physical examination assesses signs of hormonal imbalance including thyroid palpation, skin inspection, body composition, and vital signs. Based on the clinical assessment, the endocrinologist orders a tailored panel of hormonal blood tests. This typically includes comprehensive thyroid markers (TSH, fT3, fT4, and antibodies if indicated), cortisol for adrenal function, relevant pituitary hormones, fasting glucose and insulin for metabolic assessment, and sex hormones as clinically indicated. The specific markers are selected based on the individual's presentation rather than following a rigid panel, which ensures clinical relevance and avoids unnecessary testing. Results are interpreted by the specialist in the context of the clinical picture, not just against reference ranges. Borderline or subclinical findings are discussed in terms of their clinical significance and whether treatment or monitoring is appropriate. If abnormalities are found, the endocrinologist can initiate treatment directly or recommend further investigations such as imaging or stimulation tests. At 2,900 CZK (approximately 117 EUR), the exam includes the specialist consultation and the core hormonal blood panel. This is significantly below Western European rates for an equivalent endocrinology consultation with laboratory work, which typically ranges from 200 to 400 EUR.
