About this treatment

A basic metabolic panel gives a snapshot of fluid and electrolyte balance, blood sugar and kidney function. Vaše laboratoře offers it as the self-pay 'Metabolický soubor', with a broader admission panel as a step up.

Metabolický soubor (139 Kč, the default)

  • Sodium, potassium and chloride — the main electrolytes governing fluid balance, nerve and muscle function.
  • Glucose — blood sugar.
  • Urea and creatinine — waste products filtered by the kidneys; useful indicators of kidney function, which declines silently with age and some medications.
  • Albumin — the main blood protein, relevant to nutrition and kidney/liver function.
