About this treatment
Liver function tests assess how well the liver is working and whether its cells are under stress. Vaše laboratoře offers them bundled as the self-pay 'Jaterní soubor'.
Markers included
- Total and direct bilirubin — a breakdown product processed by the liver; raised levels can indicate liver or bile-duct issues.
- ALT and AST — transaminase enzymes released when liver cells are stressed or damaged, for example by fatty liver disease, alcohol, medications or metabolic syndrome.
- GGT — sensitive to alcohol and bile-duct involvement.
- ALP (alkaline phosphatase) — relevant to bile flow and bone.
