A self-pay iron status test at the Zlín poliklinika collection point. Ferritin reflects the body's iron stores and is the key marker when investigating iron deficiency or fatigue; serum iron and folate can be added. Pairs well with a complete blood count when anaemia is suspected. No referral required; payment at the draw.

About this treatment

Iron deficiency is one of the most common nutritional deficiencies and a frequent cause of fatigue, especially in menstruating women, athletes and those on plant-based diets. Vaše laboratoře offers iron-status markers on a self-pay basis.

Markers available

  • Ferritin (251 Kč, the default) — the best single marker of the body's iron stores; low ferritin signals iron deficiency even before anaemia develops.
  • Serum iron (Fe, 21 Kč) — circulating iron, which varies through the day.
  • Folate (277 Kč) — a B vitamin relevant to red-cell production and a further cause of anaemia.
