Three positioning options are available: sub-muscular (beneath the pectoralis major — favoured for thin patients with minimal natural coverage), sub-glandular (beneath breast tissue but above the muscle — faster recovery, more natural movement), and dual-plane (partial muscle coverage superiorly — balancing natural feel with adequate coverage). Incisions are placed either in the inframammary fold or around the areola, both chosen for their scar-concealment properties. The approximately 60-minute operation is performed under general anaesthesia, and patients spend one night in the clinic for observation. Post-operative care includes prescription medication, a surgical compression garment worn for six weeks, and regular follow-up appointments. Strenuous sports are restricted for six weeks.
