Type
Body Contouring
Duration
1 hour
Non-surgical body contouring at UnionDerm using CoolSculpting Elite (cryolipolysis for fat cell elimination), Accufit (electrical muscle stimulation for toning), TruSculpt iD (monopolar RF for fat reduction), Kybella (deoxycholic acid injection for submental fat), and VelaShape III (RF and infrared for cellulite). All administered by board-certified dermatologists. Addresses abdomen, flanks, inner/outer thighs, back, submental area, and cellulite.
Union Square Laser Dermatology offers a broad non-surgical body contouring program using five complementary device and injectable platforms that address fat reduction, muscle toning, and cellulite through distinct mechanisms, administered by board-certified dermatologists at the Union Square clinic. CoolSculpting Elite (AbbVie/Allergan Aesthetics) is the leading FDA-cleared cryolipolysis device, using precisely controlled cooling to selectively crystallize and permanently destroy fat cells in the treatment area — typically abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, upper arms, bra fat, and submental area — while leaving surrounding structures unharmed. The Elite system uses dual applicators simultaneously, reducing overall treatment time versus single-applicator protocols. Treated fat cells are eliminated via the lymphatic system over two to four months, with results visible progressively. Accufit (Allergan) uses intelligent electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to induce supramaximal muscle contractions in targeted muscle groups — abdomen, buttocks, and thighs — that are not achievable through voluntary exercise, promoting both muscle hypertrophy and metabolic activity in the overlying fat layer. TruSculpt iD (Cutera) delivers monopolar radiofrequency energy transcutaneously to heat fat cells to 45°C while keeping the skin surface comfortable, causing thermal apoptosis (programmed fat cell death) in the subdermal adipose layer; it is particularly effective for areas with thinner fat layers where CoolSculpting applicator placement may be challenging. Kybella (deoxycholic acid injection, AbbVie/Allergan) is the only FDA-approved injectable for permanent reduction of submental fat (double chin), using a synthetic form of a naturally occurring bile acid that destroys the cell membrane of fat cells on contact; treated fat cells do not regenerate, making results permanent after the required series of sessions (typically 2–6 sessions). VelaShape III (Syneron-Candela) combines infrared light, RF energy, vacuum tissue mobilization, and mechanical massage to reduce cellulite appearance and contour the body surface. New patient consultations at $400 are required; $200 appointment deposits are standard.
Body contouring pricing varies by device and area. CoolSculpting Elite per cycle typically $600–$1,000. Kybella per vial typically $600–$800 and multiple vials often needed per session. TruSculpt iD and Accufit pricing at consultation. $400 new patient consultation fee; $200 appointment deposit.
