A dental implant replaces a missing tooth with a titanium post placed in the jawbone, which then supports a crown that looks and functions like a natural tooth. Unimedex plans implant placement with cone-beam CT imaging for accuracy and reports having placed over 2,000 implants since 1992. The implant and its zirconia crown are priced separately, and platelet-rich fibrin can be used to support healing where helpful.
A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root. Over a healing period the bone bonds to the implant surface (a process called osseointegration), creating a stable foundation onto which a crown is later attached — replacing a missing tooth in a way that looks, feels and functions much like a natural one, without relying on or altering the neighbouring teeth as a bridge would. At Unimedex implant treatment begins with planning: cone-beam CT (3D) imaging shows the height, width and quality of the bone and the position of nearby nerves and the sinus, so the implant can be placed in the optimal position. The clinic reports having placed more than 2,000 implants over its history, and where a site needs support for predictable healing it can prepare platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) from your own blood. After placement the implant is left to integrate before the final restoration — typically a zirconia crown for its strength and natural appearance — is fitted; for cross-border patients this staged approach can often be coordinated around a smaller number of trips, which the team will plan with you in advance. Because the implant and the crown are distinct stages, they are priced separately, and the dentist will set out the full sequence, the number of visits and the total cost at the planning consultation. Implants are associated with excellent long-term stability and help preserve the jawbone where a tooth has been lost; good oral hygiene and regular check-ups support their longevity. Suitability depends on bone volume and general health, which are assessed before treatment.
