Cone-Beam CT Scan (3D Dental Tomography)

A cone-beam CT scan produces a detailed 3D image of the teeth, jawbone and surrounding structures, used to plan implants, assess wisdom teeth and locate root canals accurately. The scan is taken on site in about a minute and uses a lower radiation dose than a conventional medical CT. It gives the dentist precise information on bone volume and the position of nerves and the sinus before surgical or complex treatment.

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a dental imaging technique that captures a three-dimensional picture of the teeth, jawbones, nerve pathways and sinuses. Unlike a flat 2D X-ray, a 3D scan lets the dentist view structures from any angle and take accurate measurements, which is invaluable when planning implant placement, evaluating impacted wisdom teeth, investigating the internal anatomy of a tooth before root canal treatment, or assessing bone and pathology that a standard X-ray cannot fully show.
