What's included
4 deliverables in this treatment
- Full blood count (CBC) including haemoglobin, haematocrit, and red cell indices
- Iron metabolism (ferritin, serum iron), vitamin D, and magnesium (key performance micronutrients)
- Testosterone and estradiol with lipid profile and homocysteine (male panel); comprehensive female equivalent
- Glucose, insulin, CRP, Vitamins B12 and B9, calcium, sodium (complete metabolic snapshot)
A sport-optimised comprehensive blood panel designed to assess training readiness, nutritional sufficiency, and recovery capacity for active individuals. Available in male (2,890 Kč) and female (2,990 Kč) versions through cz.unilabs.online, collected at any of 136 Czech collection points. The male panel covers CBC, blood type, testosterone (total), estradiol, homocysteine, glucose, insulin, CRP, cholesterol, lipid panel, triglycerides, Vitamins D/B12/B9, calcium, sodium, magnesium, and iron metabolism. Overtraining syndrome, iron-deficiency anaemia, vitamin D insufficiency, and subclinical hormonal suppression from high training loads are all detectable through this profile. Results in 3 business days.
About this treatment
The Unilabs Fitness blood panel fills the gap between the general preventive panel and the specialised sports medicine panel typically accessible only through private sports physicians. It addresses the specific physiological demands of regular training: the increased requirements for oxygen-carrying capacity, accelerated micronutrient turnover from high metabolic rate, the hormonal adaptations (and maladaptations) to training load, and the…
Iron-deficiency anaemia is the most common nutritional deficiency in endurance athletes, particularly women, and is detectable at the subclinical stage through ferritin (iron stores) before haemoglobin drops. Vitamin D is included because of its dual role in musculoskeletal performance: low vitamin D impairs muscle protein synthesis and increases injury risk. Magnesium is consumed in large quantities during exercise (lost in sweat and urine, used in ATP…
Hormone markers serve a specific purpose: testosterone in male athletes falls under conditions of overtraining, energy restriction (RED-S), and excessive cortisol elevation. In female athletes, estradiol suppression accompanies hypothalamic amenorrhoea, a common consequence of high training loads with inadequate energy availability.
Good to know
- Male panel
- 2,890 Kč — comprehensive sport metabolic screen
- Female panel
- 2,990 Kč — female-specific sport panel
- Turnaround
- 3 business days
- Focus
- Overtraining, iron, hormones, vitamins, recovery
Who is this for?
Recreational and competitive athletes, gym-goers, cyclists, runners, anyone experiencing training plateaus, fatigue, or unexplained performance decline
Preparation required
Blood draw ideally in the morning, fasted (8 hours). Avoid intense exercise in the 24 hours before the draw for accurate ferritin and hormone readings.
Panel categories
Biomarkers tested
9The primary iron storage protein. Ferritin reflects total body iron stores and is the first marker to drop in iron deficiency. However, ferritin also rises with inflammation, infection, and liver disease, which can mask true iron deficiency.
Blood sugar — the body's primary energy source. Fasting glucose screens for diabetes and prediabetes. Chronically elevated glucose damages blood vessels and organs. Levels fluctuate with meals, stress, and physical activity.
Often called 'good' cholesterol, HDL carries cholesterol away from arteries back to the liver for removal. Higher HDL levels are protective against heart disease. Exercise, healthy fats, and moderate alcohol intake can raise HDL.
An amino acid produced during protein metabolism. Elevated homocysteine is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease, stroke, and cognitive decline. Levels are lowered by adequate B12, folate, and B6 intake.
The hormone produced by the pancreas to regulate blood sugar. Elevated fasting insulin — even with normal glucose — is an early marker of insulin resistance, which precedes type 2 diabetes by years. Key biomarker in longevity medicine.
Often called 'bad' cholesterol, LDL deposits cholesterol in artery walls, contributing to plaque buildup and atherosclerosis. LDL is the primary target for cardiovascular risk reduction through diet, exercise, and medication.
Involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions including energy production, muscle function, and nerve signaling. Magnesium deficiency is common and associated with muscle cramps, anxiety, insomnia, and increased cardiovascular risk.
The most common type of fat in the body, stored for energy. Elevated triglycerides — often from excess sugar, alcohol, or calories — increase cardiovascular risk and can cause pancreatitis at very high levels.
Essential for nerve function, DNA synthesis, and red blood cell formation. B12 deficiency can cause anemia, neuropathy, fatigue, and cognitive impairment. Common in vegans, vegetarians, older adults, and those taking metformin or acid-reducing medications.
