Type
MRI Scan
Duration
30 min
A 3 Tesla MRI of the lower back, covering the lumbar and sacral vertebrae, the discs between them and the nerve roots of the lower spine. It is one of the most common reasons people seek private MRI and is typically arranged for ongoing low-back pain, sciatica, or numbness and weakness in the legs. The scan shows disc bulges, narrowing and soft-tissue detail clearly. Single-segment pricing applies, with package rates for additional segments. A radiologist's report follows within 72 hours.
An MRI of the lumbosacral spine images the lower portion of the spinal column — the lumbar vertebrae, the sacrum, the intervertebral discs and the nerve roots that supply the lower limbs. MRI is especially good at showing the discs and the soft tissues around the nerves, which is why it is so often used to investigate low-back problems. At Ultra MR the study is carried out on a Siemens MAGNETOM 3 Tesla scanner and reported by a specialist in radiology and imaging diagnostics. The examination is frequently requested for persistent or severe lower-back pain, for sciatica where pain radiates down the leg, for numbness, tingling or weakness in the legs or feet, and for assessment before or after spinal treatment. You lie on your back on the scanner table with your legs supported on a cushion to keep the lower spine comfortable and still; hearing protection is provided. A standard lumbosacral scan takes about twenty to thirty minutes and needs no fasting or special preparation. Because Ultra MR prices spine MRI per segment, patients whose symptoms involve more than one region — or who simply want a broader picture — can choose a discounted two- or three-segment package covering the cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral areas in a single visit. Where appropriate, for example when imaging a previously operated spine, intravenous contrast can be added for an extra fee. The radiologist's written report is emailed within 72 hours, and express CITO or Ukrainian-language reporting can be added if needed. No referral is required to book.
