A 3 Tesla MRI of the knee, giving detailed images of the cruciate and collateral ligaments, the menisci, cartilage, tendons and bone. It is a popular self-pay scan for sports injuries, persistent knee pain, swelling or locking, and for assessing the joint before or after treatment. MRI shows the soft-tissue structures of the knee that X-rays cannot. Single-joint pricing applies, with a two-joint package available, and a radiologist's report is emailed within 72 hours.

Because these soft tissues are not visible on plain X-rays, MRI is the imaging method most often used to examine the knee in detail. At Ultra MR the scan is performed…
The examination is commonly requested after sports or twisting injuries, for ongoing knee pain or swelling, for clicking, catching or a sense of the knee giving way, and to assess the joint before or after surgery. For the scan you lie on the table and the knee being examined is positioned in a dedicated coil and supported so it stays still; the rest of your body remains outside the bore of the magnet for much of the study. A knee MRI usually takes about…

For selected questions a specialised MR arthrography — in which contrast is introduced into the joint — is offered as an in-clinic procedure at a separate price. The radiologist's written report is emailed within 72 hours, with express CITO and Ukrainian-language reporting available as…
