First, unenhanced sequences are acquired; a small cannula is then placed in a vein and the contrast is administered before further sequences are taken. Because of the extra sequences and the injection, the appointment generally lasts around forty to forty-five minutes. You should let the team know in advance about any kidney problems, prior reactions to contrast agents, asthma or the possibility of pregnancy, as these are reviewed before contrast is given.
