Type
MRI Scan
Duration
30 min
A 3 Tesla MRI of the neck (cervical) section of the spine, imaging the vertebrae, intervertebral discs, spinal cord and nerve roots without radiation. It is frequently arranged for neck pain, arm pain or tingling, or after an injury, and gives clear detail of disc and soft-tissue structures. Single-segment pricing applies, with discounted two- and three-segment spine packages for patients who need more of the spine assessed. The report is emailed by a specialist radiologist within 72 hours.
An MRI of the cervical spine produces detailed images of the seven neck vertebrae, the cushioning intervertebral discs, the spinal cord running through the canal and the nerve roots that branch out to the shoulders and arms. Because MRI shows soft tissues so well, it is particularly useful for looking at the discs, the cord and the spaces through which nerves pass — areas that plain X-rays cannot show. At Ultra MR the scan is performed on a Siemens MAGNETOM 3 Tesla system and interpreted by a specialist radiologist. The examination is commonly requested for persistent neck pain, pain, numbness, tingling or weakness radiating into the arm or hand, headaches arising from the neck, or assessment after trauma. You lie on your back on the scanner table with your head and neck supported, and stay as still as possible while the sequences are acquired; hearing protection is provided because the scanner is loud. A standard cervical scan takes roughly twenty to thirty minutes and needs no special preparation or fasting. Ultra MR prices spine imaging by segment — cervical, thoracic or lumbosacral — and offers discounted packages when two or three segments are scanned in the same visit, which suits patients whose symptoms span more than one region or who want a fuller overview of the spine. Intravenous contrast can be added for an additional fee where further characterisation is requested, for example after previous spinal surgery. Your written report is prepared by the radiologist and emailed within 72 hours, with express CITO and Ukrainian-language reporting available as paid options.
