A 3 Tesla MRI of the abdomen, imaging the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and adrenal glands without radiation. It is used to look more closely at the abdominal organs, often to follow up a finding seen on ultrasound or to characterise a previously noted change. MRI gives excellent soft-tissue contrast for these organs. A contrast-enhanced version and a dedicated liver protocol are available at higher prices, and a radiologist's report is emailed within 72 hours.

An MRI of the abdomen produces detailed images of the solid and hollow organs of the upper abdomen — the liver, gallbladder and bile ducts, the pancreas, the spleen, the kidneys and the adrenal glands.
