Otoplasty (Ear Correction)

Otoplasty at UEM Prague corrects protruding or asymmetric ears by reshaping the cartilage through an incision hidden behind the ear, at a flat published price of 24,000 Kč with all aftercare included. In adults the procedure runs comfortably under local anesthesia with same-day discharge; results are permanent and the post-auricular scar is invisible from the front. It is one of the most decisive yet lowest-downtime corrections in aesthetic surgery for a feature that often causes lifelong self-consciousness.

Protruding ears result from underdeveloped antihelical folding or an oversized conchal bowl — congenital cartilage shapes that never self-correct. Otoplasty reshapes and repositions this cartilage: through an incision in the crease behind the ear, the surgeon scores and sutures the cartilage to recreate the natural antihelical fold and set the ear closer to the head, securing the new shape with permanent internal sutures. At UEM the operation costs a flat 24,000 Kč — unusual transparency for a procedure often quoted only "from" — and includes all dressings, medication, follow-up checks and any corrective touch-up within 6–12 months. Adults are treated under local anesthesia in about 60–90 minutes and go home the same day; sedation or general anesthesia can be added for anxious patients or when both ears need extensive remodeling. A head bandage protects the ears for the first days, replaced by an elastic headband worn at night for several weeks to guard the result during sleep. Discomfort is mild and managed with standard analgesics; bruising is minimal because the work is confined behind the ear. Most patients return to work within a week. The correction is permanent — reshaped cartilage holds its new geometry for life.
