Breast Reduction

Breast reduction at UEM Prague removes excess breast tissue and skin to relieve the physical burden of very large breasts — chronic back and neck pain, bra-strap grooving, posture problems and skin irritation — while reshaping and lifting the breast at the same time. Priced at 58,000–68,000 Kč with the roughly two-day hospital stay and full aftercare included, the operation is performed under general anesthesia by the institute's senior plastic surgeons in the Emauzy facility.

Breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) is consistently among the highest patient-satisfaction procedures in plastic surgery because it solves a daily physical problem, not only an aesthetic one. Oversized breasts cause documented orthopedic strain — cervical and thoracic back pain, shoulder grooving from bra straps, intertrigo in the inframammary fold — and limit sport and clothing choices. The operation removes glandular tissue, fat and redundant skin, repositions the nipple-areola complex (usually reducing areola diameter as well), and reconstructs a smaller, lifted breast. UEM typically uses vertical or anchor (inverted-T) incision patterns depending on the volume removed; the consulting surgeon discusses the expected scar trade-off openly at the 500 Kč consultation. Surgery takes 2.5–4 hours under general anesthesia, followed by about two nights on the clinic's own inpatient ward — included in the price along with drains management, dressings at the daily clinic, medication and a surgical support bra. Recovery to desk work takes around 2 weeks; sport resumes gradually from 6 weeks. The final shape settles over several months. As with all UEM surgery, corrective touch-ups (most commonly scar revisions) within 6–12 months are covered by the original price. Women planning future pregnancies should discuss timing, since pregnancy can alter results and breastfeeding ability may be affected depending on technique.
