Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and shapes the canals and seals them, saving a tooth that might otherwise need extraction. At Tymodent the fee depends on how many canals the tooth has, with single-, two-, three- and four-canal treatments each listed on the price list, and a higher band for retreating teeth that were filled previously. Cone-beam CT is available in-house to help assess complex cases.

Root canal treatment (endodontics) is needed when the soft tissue inside a tooth — the pulp — becomes inflamed or infected, often from deep decay, a crack or trauma, which can cause pain or an abscess. The dentist removes the affected pulp, disinfects and shapes the fine canals inside the roots, and then fills and seals them so bacteria cannot re-enter. The tooth is usually rebuilt afterwards with a filling, a post-and-core build-up or a crown, depending on how much sound structure remains. At Tymodent the price reflects the anatomy of the tooth, because front teeth typically have one canal while molars can have three or four. The clinic lists single-canal treatment at 700 zł, two-canal at 1,000 zł, three-canal at 1,300 zł and four-canal at 1,500 zł. Re-treating a tooth that has already had a root filling is more involved — the old material has to be removed first — so those cases are priced higher, from 900 zł up to 1,800 zł by canal number. For difficult or unclear cases the in-house cone-beam CT can reveal extra canals or the shape of the roots before treatment.
