A dental implant is a small titanium screw that is placed into the jawbone to take the role of a natural tooth root. Over a healing period the bone integrates with the implant surface, after which a connector (abutment) and a custom crown are fitted on top to restore the gap. Implants are used to replace single missing teeth, several teeth, or to anchor larger restorations, and they help preserve the surrounding bone that tends to shrink once a tooth is lost. At Tymodent the process begins with an examination and three-dimensional cone-beam CT imaging, which the clinic performs on site, so the surgeon can evaluate bone volume and the position of nerves and sinuses before treatment. Placement is carried out by oral-surgery specialists under local anaesthetic; where there is not enough bone, guided bone regeneration can be performed to rebuild the site, which the price list quotes from 1,500 zł. After a healing phase the implant is restored with a crown. Because every case differs, the clinic prices the implant, the healing abutment and the implant crown as separate line items, each quoted 'from' a base price, with the total confirmed once imaging and planning are complete. An implant-based restoration may support more stable chewing and can avoid reshaping the neighbouring teeth that a conventional bridge would require.
