Anti-Wrinkle Injections (Botulinum Toxin)

Anti-wrinkle injections use small doses of botulinum toxin to relax the muscles that create expression lines on the upper face — forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet. At Tymodent the treatment is offered within the clinic's aesthetic-medicine service led by a dentist who is also an aesthetic-medicine physician, with each area priced individually depending on the product. Botulinum toxin is also used to treat excessive underarm sweating. An aesthetic consultation precedes treatment.

Anti-wrinkle injections work by temporarily reducing the activity of the small muscles that fold the skin when you frown, raise your eyebrows or smile. Easing these movements allows the overlying skin to crease less, so dynamic lines on the upper face soften over the following days. The most commonly treated areas are the horizontal forehead lines, the vertical frown lines between the brows (the glabella) and the crow's feet at the outer corners of the eyes. The injections take only a few minutes using a very fine needle, and most people return to their usual activities the same day while avoiding heat, lying flat and vigorous exercise for the rest of the day. Each area is priced individually at 350–600 zł depending on the amount and brand of product used, so a plan can be tailored to one area or several. Results typically begin within a few days and settle over about two weeks, generally lasting a few months before movement gradually returns and a repeat treatment is needed. Botulinum toxin is also used here to manage hyperhidrosis — troublesome excessive sweating, for example of the underarms — at 1,500 zł, where it reduces sweat-gland activity in the treated area.
