Thread Lifting — Meso-Cogs & Mesonite (Non-Surgical SMAS Lift)

Mesonite threads (FTC — Fine Thread Collagen technology) work deeper in the SMAS layer — the muscular fascia beneath the skin — using hair-thin threads delivered via special injecting microneedles to restructure the deeper facial support framework. Both systems are worldwide-certified, fully absorbable, and require no general anaesthesia. Results are immediate and last approximately one to two years. Thread lifting has evolved considerably from the early non-absorbable suture techniques. Meso-Cogs threads are manufactured from caprolactone, a synthetic polyester that degrades slowly over 12–18 months as esterases in the tissue break the polymer chain. During degradation, caprolactone byproducts are metabolically neutral and elicit a mild foreign-body response that stimulates fibroblast recruitment and collagen matrix deposition around each thread. The bidirectional cogs on the thread surface grip the subcutaneous fibrous septae when the cannula is withdrawn, creating a mechanical vector that lifts and repositions ptotic tissue — immediately visible as a more defined jawline, lifted jowl area, or elevated midface. Because the cannula insertion port is submillimetre, there are no scars. The Mesonite and Nanonite FTC (Fine Thread Collagen) system works at a different anatomical level. These hair-thin threads are delivered via special injecting microneedles directly into the SMAS (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System) — the fibrous layer connecting the facial muscles to the overlying skin that loses elasticity and thickness with age, contributing to the deepening of nasolabial folds and jowling. By introducing threads into the SMAS plane, the technique reinforces this support layer, correcting drooping of the brows, nasolabial folds, jawline, and submental area from within. A thread lift session at the clinic takes 45–90 minutes depending on the number of threads and zones. Topical or infiltration anaesthesia is used; patients may experience mild swelling and localised bruising for three to five days.
