Harmony XL Laser 360 — Skin Rejuvenation

The Harmony XL Laser 360 is a three-module combination laser protocol exclusive to Alma Lasers technology, combining AFT intense pulsed light, near-infrared deep heating, and fractional Er:YAG resurfacing in a single treatment programme. The Laser 360 protocol uses three modules in concert. The AFT 540 nm module — Advanced Fluorescence Technology — converts the standard broad-spectrum flash into a more uniform, efficient output that targets oxyhaemoglobin in dilated blood vessels and melanin in hyperpigmented spots without the cold-filtering energy waste of conventional IPL. The ST NIR module at 780–950 nm delivers near-infrared energy that penetrates deeper into the dermis, raising tissue temperature sufficiently to denature old collagen and trigger fibroblast-mediated remodelling — the same mechanism underlying many rejuvenation protocols. The Er:YAG Pixel 2940 nm module uses fractional ablation: a matrix of microbeams removes precise columns of superficial epidermis while leaving surrounding tissue intact, allowing rapid healing while achieving meaningful resurfacing. At a typical session, EMLA anaesthetic cream is applied 30–60 minutes in advance. The session itself lasts approximately 30 minutes for a face-only treatment. Immediately afterwards, treated skin appears pink and may feel mildly warm for about an hour. Over the following five days, superficial skin dries slightly, darkens, and peels — a normal part of the healing process. Strict SPF 50+ sun protection is mandatory for the six weeks following treatment. The Laser 360 programme typically involves two to three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, with maintenance treatments recommended annually. Suitable conditions include facial vascular lesions (telangiectasia, rosacea-associated capillaries), age spots, sun damage, premature ageing, skin discolouration, and generalised skin texture irregularities. The Harmony XL also handles individual mole, fibroma, and benign skin lesion removal. Contraindications include active tanning, recent sun exposure, certain medications increasing photosensitivity, and pregnancy.
