Non-invasive photobiomodulation using red (630 nm) and near-infrared (830 nm) light to stimulate cellular repair, reduce inflammation, improve skin quality and support cognitive and cardiovascular health.

About this treatment

Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) at The Longevity Science Centrum harnesses specific wavelengths of light — 630 nm red and 830 nm near-infrared — to penetrate skin and soft tissue and trigger beneficial changes at the cellular level. The therapy is entirely non-invasive and painless, with clients experiencing only a gentle warmth during sessions.

At the molecular level, red and near-infrared photons are absorbed by cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondrial respiratory chain. This absorption increases electron transport, boosts ATP production, and reduces oxidative stress — effectively energising cells and enhancing their capacity to repair and regenerate. Secondary effects include increased nitric oxide release (supporting vascular relaxation and blood flow), modulation of reactive oxygen species,…

Clinically, PBMT has been studied for a wide range of applications relevant to longevity and age management: reduction of wrinkles and scar tissue, acceleration of wound healing, alleviation of arthritis and joint pain, neuroprotective effects in conditions such as dementia and Parkinson's disease, support for cardiovascular health, and management of chronic skin conditions. The clinic's team also highlights its role in hypertension management and gout…
