The take-home whitening kit provides a more gradual alternative: custom-fitted trays are fabricated from impressions of the patient's teeth, and a professional-strength whitening gel is dispensed for home use. Results are typically visible within one week of daily application. Both options are dentist-supervised, ensuring that patients are assessed for suitability beforehand — patients with significant decay, gum disease, or very sensitive teeth may require preparatory treatment first.
