HIFU Sygmalift at The Clifford Clinic delivers precisely focused ultrasound energy to multiple tissue depths simultaneously — including the superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) layer that surgeons target in a traditional facelift — without any incision or anaesthesia. The energy heats target tissue to a precise temperature at each focal point, triggering a wound-healing response that results in new collagen fibres contracting and tightening the tissue over the following weeks and months. The Sygmalift device used at the clinic allows the physician to select depths of 1.5mm, 3.0mm, and 4.5mm, addressing the dermis, subcutaneous tissue, and SMAS respectively. Treating all three depths in a single session produces a multi-layered effect: surface textural improvement, volume restoration through subdermal collagen thickening, and structural lift at the SMAS. The face, neck, décolletage, brows, and jowls are the most commonly treated areas, but the device is also used on the body for loose post-pregnancy skin or gravitational laxity on the abdomen, inner arms, and thighs.
