The procedure begins with a standard blood draw, after which the sample is centrifuged to concentrate the platelet fraction. Platelets are rich in growth factors including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and EGF, which collectively signal cells to proliferate, migrate to damaged areas, and produce extracellular matrix components including collagen and elastin. The clinic most commonly uses PRP in combination with microneedling for acne scar treatment. The microneedling device — either INFINI or Secret RF depending on scar depth and type — creates controlled micro-channels that allow the concentrated PRP to reach the deeper dermal layers where scar tissue forms. This synergistic approach delivers a natural collagen induction effect that the clinic describes as requiring fewer sessions, offering minimal recovery time, and being safe for all skin types including darker Fitzpatrick categories that are at higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from ablative procedures.
