The Q-Switch Nd:YAG laser emits nanosecond pulses that shatter melanin deposits with minimal thermal damage to surrounding skin, making it the standard treatment for melasma, sunspots, Hori's naevus, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in Asian skin. It is also used for skin brightening treatments and tattoo removal. Visible improvements typically appear within a few sessions, and the treatment is safe for darker skin tones when parameters are appropriately adjusted. Fraxel Dual is a fractional laser combining 1550nm erbium fibre and 1927nm thulium wavelengths. The 1550nm wavelength targets deeper dermal remodelling for textural improvement and fine lines, while the 1927nm wavelength treats superficial pigmentation and sun damage. The fractional delivery — treating columns of skin separated by untreated bridges — enables faster healing than fully ablative lasers while still achieving meaningful dermal remodelling. Vbeam is a pulsed dye laser with FDA approval for vascular lesions including rosacea, acne-related redness, post-inflammatory erythema, and port wine stains. It is particularly valuable in The Clifford Clinic's acne management protocol because it targets the blood vessels feeding inflamed sebaceous glands, reducing redness and active inflammation without requiring systemic medication. Treatment is suitable for all skin types and carries minimal post-procedure effects. All laser procedures are performed by or under direct supervision of the clinic's physicians.
